Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette published by Bill Brink
The Pirates added another non-roster invitee today when they signed first baseman and outfielder Joey Terdoslavich to a minor league contract.
Terdoslavich, a switch-hitting 28-year-old, spent all of 2016 in the Baltimore Orioles minor league system. In 529 plate appearances split between Class AA Bowie and Class AAA Norfolk, he hit .233/.340/.384 with 14 homers and nearly as many walks (72) as strikeout (84).
Originally drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the sixth round in 2010, Terdoslavich made his major league debut with the Braves in 2013. In parts of three seasons, from 2013-15, Terdoslavich received 162 plate appearances in 92 games and posted a .620 OPS.
After hitting .286 with a .341 OBP and 20 homers with Class A Lynchburg in 2011, the Braves named him their organization’s minor league player of the year.
The Orioles picked Terdoslavich off waivers in January 2016.
