ATLANTA - Right-hander Williams Perez has been optioned to Gwinnett by the Atlanta Braves, who have recalled right-hander Casey Kelly from the Triple-A farm team.

Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez says the move was made to have Kelly available for a possible long relief role. Right-hander Julio Teheran has been ill and is starting on Wednesday night against the Dodgers, a day behind the rotation's original schedule.

Atlanta will have to find another pitcher to fill Perez's rotation spot on Sunday against Jacob deGrom and the Mets. Right-hander Aaron Blair pitched seven no-hit innings for Gwinnett on Tuesday night and is a candidate for that outing.

Obtained from San Diego in December, Kelly is 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in two starts for Gwinnett. Perez has a 5.11 ERA in three starts with Atlanta.
